Where should I begin? Warning! This entry is probably going to be one of the longest entries I have written. Let the fun begin!

COLLEGE

I seriously cannot believe that I am a Junior in college, like what. I literally started my college journey last January. I did a full year in the spring and the summer. Right away, that fall semester, I started Sophomore year, followed by the Spring. This past summer semester, I decided to take one class online. And now, here we are. Fall 2020, and I am a Junior. Time goes by so freaking fast, and I just want it to slow down a little bit, huhh. I literally started school the other day, and in a week we are about to be 2 months in. Time is surreal. I haven't told you guys about my college experience but don’t worry. I will be dedicating this story in another blog.

WORK

For these past months I have had a couple of different jobs. When I came to college, I realized that I needed a job asap, not only because I needed money to pay for my books and my expenses, but because I really needed to get out. Ever since I turned 16, I have always been employed. So I was not going to sit around doing nothing. A girl told me about an ice cream shop that was hiring near my school. I went and I applied. Guys I became an ice cream scooper. I loved it. I ate so much ice cream :) The ice cream was so delicious, but very, and trust me when I say very, expensive! After a while I noticed that the hours were not really working for me. I only got closing shifts. You should know that in the restaurant industry after they “close,” the workers need to stay an extra hour to CLEAN. We usually closed at 11 p.m. So on Sunday we will stay in the store until 11:30-45 p.m. if we got lucky, cleaning. Other times the clock will hit 12 a.m. and we were still there.

I looked for other jobs. I found one. Starbucks! I am working there now and I love itttt. My shifts start at 5 a.m. which I love. They are more flexible with my schedule. I only work Friday, Saturday and Sundays. All the shifts are in the morning. So at 11 a.m. or 12 p.m. I am out! I then have the whole day to myself. I come home and take a 2 hour nap, hahaha! One of the main reasons I love working as a barista in Starbucks is because I love the rush. In order for you to be a barista you need to be extremely fast. When I am at the bar, I find myself making 4 drinks at a time. I am making a latte in one machine, waiting for the shots to queue for a caramel macchiato, filling a venti cup with ice coffee, while occasionally glancing at the cold brew machine to make sure the cup doesn’t overflow. To many this may seem stressful, but for me, this is fun!

Last semester, when we all went home because of the pandemic, I decided to start working for Instacart. For those of you that don’t know what Instacart is, it is an application that allows you to shop for groceries using an app. Then someone does the shopping for you and delivers it to you in your house. I started to do this after my shift as a cashier in the supermarket. Time passed and I found myself leaving the supermarket to do Instacart full time. I love this job. Till this day, I still shop. I will talk about my Instacart shopper experience in another blog.

Besides being a barista at Starbucks and an Instacart Shopper, I also do work study at my school. This semester is going to be different since we are taking classes online. The programs are also going to be different. Last semester I was part of Friends of the Homeless. In this program we helped an organization with the homeless. We helped build, clean, paint, and organize homeless shelters. This opportunity was great for me because I was able to change people's lives. This is one of those experiences that will forever stay with me. The other program that I was part of was called Bartons road. Here we helped middle schools kids do their homework. After the homework was completed we had different activities that tested their abilities to work in teams and challenged them to think outside of the box.

FRIENDSHIPS

One thing that I have learned throughout my life is that friendships come and go. The real friends are the ones that stick to you like glue, and stay with you through everything. For these past couple of months I have had many people come and go in my life. They have either left because they pleased, or I pushed them away because they didn’t really fit my life. When it comes to deciding whether you want someone in your life, you should ask yourself, does this person bring value into my life? If yes, keep them, if no, let them go. The only reason I say this is because you shouldn’t waste your time on people that will either bring you down, make you feel bad about yourself, or are just mean. Having someone like this in your life is going to either stress you, making you feel horrible about yourself, limit you to opportunities or worse, prevent you from being with others. I personally have learned that letting these people go, distancing yourself from them is the best thing you can do.

My circle of friends is super small. I only need one hand to count how many real friendships I have. I have always told myself, it is better for me to have 3 friends that will stand by me through war, than have 12 “friends” that when they hear the police siren they start running away. Do you know what I mean?

RELATIONSHIPS

This one is going to be brief I promise. I have a new boyfriend who I met in college. He is amazing, sometimes hahahahaha. My previous relationship did not work out for reasons that I will not mention. S*** happens, you know. Everything happens for a reason. What I can say is that I am extremely happy where I am now in my life.

CAREERS

When I entered college I knew one thing for certain. I wanted to become an Entrepreneur. I wanted to innovate new products that will revolutionize the world. After taking a couple of classes I found out what I wanted to concentrate in. #realestate. I don’t know if it was the professor and her way of teaching, or the content, but I fell in love with the material. Right now I am taking Real Estate Transactions and law, and Real Estate Development. I still don’t know what profession I would like to proceed in Real Estate, but I am looking into the real estate development or brokerage. I will let ya know what I pick when I decide.

TRAVELING

I have been visiting a couple of places, and gone to a couple of vacations. I have planned a couple of trips, which I have never done before. For my boyfriend's birthday, I surprised him with a trip to a cabin in the middle of the woods. It was an amazing trip, we had a great time. My favorite part was unplugging from the internet for three days. This summer I planned a couples trip with my sister, her boyfriend, and my boyfriend. We went to a small town called Everett in Massachusetts. There we did a couple of activities and went to a railroad excursion, which was really nice. Right now, I am currently in Miami celebrating my anniversary, and it has also been amazing. We went to Topgolf, which was pretty cool. We rode some bikes in South Beach. Our hotel is in front of the beach which is really good. We are planning to jet ski later today. We have never done jet skiing, so we are pretty excited. As for future traveling, we are planning to go to the Dominican Republic in December, for my Christmas Project. I don’t think you guys know about this project, but don’t worry. You will soon find out!

SOCIAL MEDIA

Throughout this time, I have decided to take a couple of breaks from social media. For a bit, it was taking over my life lmfaoo. I would wake up checking Instagram, go to the bathroom checking Instagram, go to sleep checking Instagram, it was literally everything and Instagram. The longest break I took from Instagram was for about one month. The break was very relieving. One thing I wanted to share with you guys is that I have decided to make an Instagram account for my blog. The purpose of me making this Instagram is because I want it to be easier for you guys to ask me questions and to vote on what type of blogs you want to read. It is basically an easier way for me to communicate with you. Through Instagram I will keep you updated when the blog is going to be aired and so on. Through voting, you have the power, so please vote, lol.

This is my blogs Instagram: my_golden_epiphany

POSTING

I am going to start developing a habit of posting at the same time, during the same day of the week. It will be easier for me to schedule uploading a blog once every week or once every two weeks. I have yet to decide when I will be posting. I will keep you updated.

This is where I am going to leave you guys and my updates, hahahahaha. I do not want to overwhelm you. Keep an eye out for my next blog, which I will let you decide what you want to read about.

Thank you for giving me the time of your day to read this piece. If you have any questions regarding anything do not hesitate to ask me. If you have any suggestions please let me know. Remember I am not the best writer. If you do happen to find a grammar mistake on this piece, please email me.
